Each year, the local holiday season arrives in earnest on the first weekend of December.

Come Home to Galion arrived this year on a cold, windy day. Still, hundreds joined together to watch a grand parade, take a carriage ride, go ice skating, sample food, listen to music, visit local attractions, meet Santa Claus, and above all indulge in Christmas spirit.

After a Breakfast with Santa at the Big Four Depot Pavilion, activities moved to Uptowne Galion for the remainder of the day, with additional activities at Brownella Cottage, the Gill House, and RealLife Nazarene Church. The majority of happenings took place from 1 to 3 PM, followed by the Parade at 4 PM. The Community Christmas Tree lighting ceremony with carols and the traditional Christmas story took place immediately afterwards.

While we couldn’t be everywhere, we did manage to be in a few locations including, of course, the Parade where Santa Claus made his Galion debut. Pictures follow.
