Renowned Ohio-based photographer and author Ian Adams will headline a special Winter Author Experience on Saturday, February 1, at 2:00 PM, at the Lowe-Volk Nature Center in Leesville. Hosted in collaboration with Crawford County libraries and the Crawford Park District, Adams will share insights from his latest work, This Place of Silence: An Anthology of Ohio’s Cemeteries.

Adams’ presentation will highlight the inspiration behind his photographic exploration of Ohio’s cemeteries, blending storytelling with captivating visuals. His new book provides a poignant glimpse into these spaces of quiet reflection and history.

A Month-long Photo Exhibit

As a complement to his talk, Adams’ photography will be on display at the Lowe-Volk Nature Center from January 27 through February 28. The exhibit features stunning visuals of Ohio’s natural and historic landmarks, showcasing the artistry that has earned Adams national acclaim.

A Distinguished Career Behind the Lens

Ian Adams has dedicated his career to capturing Ohio’s natural, rural, and historical beauty. His portfolio spans 24 published books, including Backroads of Ohio, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and Ohio in Photographs: A Portrait of the Buckeye State, co-photographed with Randall Schieber. His innovative eBook, iPhone Landscape & Nature Photography, reflects his passion for adapting new technologies to art.

Over the years, Adams has conducted 200+ seminars and workshops and contributed photography to respected publications such as Ohio Magazine and Country Gardens. Additionally, he taught digital photography at Ohio State University’s Agricultural Technical Institute from 2010 to 2019.
