Exciting News For 1831Galion And The TotalLocal Media Family

Today, on the day before Thanksgiving, we’re thrilled to share some major updates about 1831Galion and our sister sites, 1812Blockhouse and 1808Delaware.

Big Changes for 1831Galion

Starting in December, 1831Galion will expand its coverage, becoming an even stronger voice for Galion and the greater community. As the only locally-owned, consistently updated source of news and information in Galion and Crawford County, we’re excited to bring you more of what matters most.

Since its inception, 1831Galion has focused on storytelling—sharing the vibrant spirit of our community. Now, we’re stepping further into the spotlight by diving into the topics that shape our lives every day. From city and county government updates to local crime reports, in-depth business features, arts coverage, and more, 1831Galion will tell the full story of our community from all angles.

This is a shift from our earlier approach, which avoided some of these “hard news” topics—an area previously covered by GalionLive, which we published until late 2013. With this change, 1831Galion is embracing its role as a comprehensive, trusted local news source. We finally will have a way as a community to communicate, share ideas, and build a better future.

In addition, we’re launching a new twice-weekly newsletter, offering timely updates and insights, similar to our successful newsletters in Richland and Delaware Counties: Richland Roast and 1808AM.

More Opportunities for Local Businesses

With this expansion, we’re also introducing display advertising across all three TotalLocal Media sites. This means Galion businesses can now connect with customers far beyond Crawford County, reaching audiences in Richland County and Delaware County, Ohio’s fastest-growing.

Through 1808Delaware, we cover Delaware County’s dynamic communities, including Delaware, Sunbury, Lewis Center, Westerville, Powell, and the Polaris area – as well as the northern suburbs of Columbus. Together, our sites provide businesses with a unique opportunity to reach a broader audience while staying rooted in their local market.

Thank You for Helping Us Grow

We couldn’t do this without you—our loyal readers! Your support has fueled steady readership growth here in southeast Crawford, western Richland, and northern Morrow counties, mirroring gains across our other markets. Be sure to check out and support the businesses and organizations that advertise with us—they’re helping make local news free and accessible for everyone.

Thank you for being a part of the 1831Galion story. The future is bright, and we’re excited to continue this journey with you!
