At Galion Community Theatre (GCT), summer means one thing: the spotlight shines on the next generation of performers. For years, GCT has delighted local audiences with its youth productions—and 2025 promises to be no different. The highlight this year? A spectacular staging of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with performances on July 25 & 26 and August 1, 2, and 3.
But that’s not all.
This summer, GCT is turning up the magic with not just one—but two youth day camps designed especially for younger aspiring actors. Whether your child dreams of ruby slippers or fuzzy puppets, there’s a place for them on the GCT stage.
🌟 Camp 1: “Can You Help Me Find My Way to GCT?”
For children ages 5–8
June 2–6 | 9:30–11:30 AM
It’s a musical trip to a street where sunny days sweep the clouds away! In this Sesame Street-inspired camp, kids will sing and dance as beloved characters while learning basic stage skills in a fun, supportive environment. Campers will end the week with a live performance on Friday, June 6 at 11:30 AM—open to friends, family, and the public.
✨ Camp 2: “Off to See the Wizard!”
For children ages 8–10
June 2–6 | 1:30–4:00 PM
Follow the yellow brick road—GCT style! This creative twist on The Wizard of Oz replaces the classic songs with fun new numbers that will have your little stars shining. After a week of rehearsals, campers will perform their unique version of the story at 5:30 PM on Friday, June 6. Bonus: kids will enjoy a pizza party between rehearsal and showtime.
