As spring approaches, the Galion Public Library is offering a variety of engaging programs for adults through the end of March. From creative crafts and historical discussions to social clubs and game nights, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re looking to relax with a cup of coffee, express your artistic side, or connect with fellow community members, these events provide the perfect opportunity to do so.
Coffee, Coloring, and Conversation at Three Bean Coffee House
The Galion Public Library is bringing creativity and relaxation to the community with its popular Coffee and Coloring event, happening Wednesday, March 12 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Three Bean Coffee House. This laid-back program welcomes participants of all ages (13 and under must be accompanied by an adult) to enjoy a quiet afternoon of artistic expression while sipping on their favorite beverages.
All coloring materials are provided at no cost—just bring your imagination and a willingness to unwind. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or simply looking for a way to de-stress, this monthly event offers a warm and welcoming space to connect with fellow community members.
Engaging Discussions and Hands-On Fun: Political Education & Craft Night
For those interested in history and current affairs, the library is launching a Political Education Night on Monday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day), from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Community Room. The debut session will focus on the Irish Potato Famine, delving into not just what happened, but why it happened and its lasting impact—including modern discussions on food security, such as the Farm Bill. If you’re a history buff or just curious about how past events shape our world today, this bi-monthly discussion group will be an eye-opening experience.
Creativity takes center stage at Adult Craft Night on Wednesday, March 19, from 6:00-8:00 PM with a Rug Painting Party. Participants will have the chance to paint a 17×30-inch coir welcome mat using vibrant acrylic paints. Supplies are limited to the first 20 attendees, so early arrival is recommended. This hands-on crafting event is the perfect way to refresh your home for spring while enjoying great company.
Game Nights, Social Clubs, and More Ways to Connect
If casual conversation is more your style, the library’s new In-Person Yap Club offers a unique opportunity to socialize in a relaxed setting. Happening on Wednesday, March 26, from 6:00-8:00 PM, this gathering includes snacks, refreshments, and a conversational twist—the Adult Programming Coordinator will provide three words as conversation starters, keeping the discussion lively and engaging.
For those who love a little friendly competition, the Adult Game Night on Monday, March 31 from 5:30-7:30 PM is a great chance to unwind with classic games like Rummy-O, card games, and board games. With refreshments provided, it’s the perfect way to close out the month while meeting new friends.
With an exciting lineup of events, March is shaping up to be a month full of creativity, conversation, and community at the Galion Public Library. For more information on any of these programs, call 419-468-3203.
