For families seeking educational opportunities beyond their home district, Northmor Local Schools is once again opening its doors to students across Ohio through its open enrollment program for the 2025-2026 school year. The application window begins at 8:00 AM on April 1 and remains open until 4:00 PM on June 30.
Who Can Apply?
Northmor Schools welcomes applications from students entering kindergarten through twelfth grade. However, each student must submit an application annually, regardless of prior acceptance. The open enrollment policy ensures a fair and inclusive process by accepting students without regard to academic ability, athletic skills, artistic talent, English proficiency, or special education status, as long as the district can meet their specific needs.
How to Apply
Interested families can access the Open Enrollment Application online at http://tiny.cc/oe2526. Completed applications should be submitted to the Superintendent’s Office. If you have questions, the district encourages you to call 419-946-3946 (option #4).
Enrollment Capacity and Selection Process
Due to space limitations, Northmor Schools follows a priority-based selection process:
- Date and time of receipt determine application priority.
- Each grade level is subject to a student-teacher ratio cap (1:20 for kindergarten and grade 1; 1:23 for other grades).
- School building capacities will be limited based on classroom availability.
- Special education and vocational programs have their own enrollment limits.
- Court-ordered racial balances will be maintained.
Notification and Acceptance
Families will receive letters of acceptance or rejection by July. Upon acceptance, families must provide required academic and health records within a reasonable time frame. If these requirements are not met, the student may forfeit enrollment opportunities.
Transportation Guidelines
Northmor Schools will provide transportation only within district bus stop locations. Families are responsible for ensuring their child’s transportation to and from designated district bus stops.
Important Conditions to Note
- Suspensions or Expulsions: Students with a history of ten or more days of suspension or expulsion during the current or previous term may be denied enrollment.
- Annual Reapplication: Open enrollment approvals are valid for one school year. Returning students must reapply each year.
- Moving Mid-Year: Families who move out of the Northmor district during the school year must submit an open enrollment application to continue attending. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
- Final Enrollment Decisions: Acceptance remains tentative until the first week of school. If classroom sizes exceed limits due to local enrollment increases, students may be required to return to their home district.
A Commitment to Student Success
Northmor Schools takes pride in its commitment to educational excellence and accessibility. The open enrollment process is designed to provide fair opportunities for students across Ohio while maintaining the quality of education for both in-district and open-enrolled students.
