UPDATE on Friday afternoon:
The following was posted by the City about 1:00 PM in reference to another water line repair:
“Crews are working to make a repair to a water line on S. Washington St. Those in the following area will be without water while the repair is being completed:
Liberty from E. Walnut to E. Church St.
Harding Way E. from S. Liberty to South St.
S. Washington from E. Atwood to Harding Way E.
South St. from Covert Way to Harding Way E.
Repairs are expected to take two hours.”
The City of Galion has announced that a boil advisory is in place for Harding Way between Market and Washington until 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. That is the area between Public Square and the Big Four Depot.
Residents are advised:
- Take precautions to ensure water safety during this time. Begin by flushing cold water taps for at least three minutes before use.
- For drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making formula, preparing food, washing dishes, or making ice, boil water for three minutes and allow it to cool, or use bottled water.
- If your water appears discolored, avoid washing clothes or using hot water taps until the cold water runs clear. Devices like coffee makers, water dispensers, or soda dispensers connected to your water supply should not be used unless they’re filled with boiled or bottled water.
- Once the advisory is lifted, then clean, disinfect, and flush these devices according to their manuals. Handwashing with soap and tap water is safe for general hygiene, but if you’re preparing food, use boiled (and cooled) or bottled water.
Normal tap water use can resume once the advisory expires unless authorities extend it. Stay informed to 1831Galion for updates. 🌊
