It might well go down in the record books as one of the hottest days for a Third Friday in Galion event.
The American Federation of Musicians Local 159 Concert Band set up a bit early for their scheduled 7:00 PM performance. “It’s too hot not to start a bit early,” one musician commented as the ensemble began with the National Anthem. Despite the heat, many Galionites and friends joined in lawn chairs or on Park Square benches to listen to a wide variety of pieces including a number highlighting river-themed music from history and another the last march written by John Philip Sousa.
