Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs (MCPP) has announced that the Crawford County students will host their third annual “Crawford Drug Free Youth Rally.” The student-driven rally will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Thursday, September 19 at Schines Art Park in Bucyrus and feature a disc jockey as well as games and Mark’s Homemade Ice Cream will donate ice cream, Dzugan Real Estate Services and The Hub will provide lunch, the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce and Galion-Crestline Chamber of Commerce will provide facilities, and the Crawford County Prevention Coalition will attend to volunteer.
Laura Busler, Associate Director with Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs, commented on the event, “This marks our third year hosting the rally, and we’re thrilled to see student attendance continuing to grow. We’re expecting nearly 220 students from all six Crawford County school districts. We encourage the students attending to take this opportunity to inspire their peers to make positive choices.”
Youth from all six Crawford County school districts will attend, and the number of students continues to rise from 150 in the first year to nearly 220 for the third annual rally. The rally’s main objectives are to create an awareness that the majority of students are substance-free and send a positive message to the community, including the business community as the students are their future workforce. Support for the rally includes Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce, Crawford County Commissioners, Crawford County Prevention Coalition, Crawford Partnership, Dzugan Real Estate Services, Galion-Crestline Chamber of Commerce, The Hub at Village Square, Mark’s Homemade Ice Cream, and Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs.
