Space Invaders: Battling Ohio’s Ecosystem Threats

Director Cole will lead an insightful hour-long program about Ohio’s native species and the invasive species threatening local ecosystems. Attendees will learn about the different plants and animals that are native to Ohio, and the outsiders that disrupt their habitats. This program is an excellent opportunity to understand the challenges faced by native species—from turtles to trees—and learn how you can contribute to preserving Ohio’s natural environment.

Viewing the Sun: A Solar Telescope Experience

This unique program offers a rare chance to observe the sun through a specialized solar telescope. Homeschool in Nature: Archery for Young Marksmen

Haunted Headwaters: A Terrifying Trek Through the Cursed Woods

For those seeking a thrill, the Haunted Headwaters hike at Sandusky Headwaters Preserve is an adventure like no other. This event, designed for older participants, offers a spine-chilling experience that’s not suitable for young children. Proceeds will benefit the Junior Naturalist Club and help fund the new archery range.

Feeding Day: Get Up Close with Park Residents

Join Lisa at the Nature Center for Feeding Day, a fun and interactive event where attendees can help feed the resident animals. Participants will get hands-on experience preparing food for box turtles, feeding worms to the snapping turtle, and offering mice to the snakes. This event provides a unique glimpse into the daily care of the park’s animal residents and is perfect for nature lovers who enjoy getting up close with wildlife.
