Crafting Connections And Building Community At The Library

In addition to special events, activities, and exhibits, the Galion Public Library offers regular programming that takes place each month.

Designed to cater to a diverse range of interests and age groups, these gatherings are not just about pursuing hobbies but also about building a sense of community and connection. Here’s a sneak peek into the array of activities lined up for the coming months.

Unleash Your Creativity

Adult Craft Night is an invitation to unleash your creativity. Scheduled on the first Friday of every month starting at 4:00 PM, it welcomes individuals aged 15 and above. The best part? It’s free! The crafting themes vary, and details are regularly updated on the library’s Facebook page. Some sessions may extend from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, subject to the nature of the craft.

Coffee & Coloring at Three Bean Coffee House is another exciting event. Held every 2nd Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, this cozy session combines the art of coloring with the warmth of a coffee house. Suitable for all ages, it only requires you to pay for your drink, offering both simple and complex coloring pages.

Book Clubs: A Journey Through Words

Out of Shelf Space Book Club, a morning book club meeting every other Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, is perfect for avid readers above 18. The book selection is ongoing, and with 10 spots still open as of December 2023, it’s an excellent opportunity for literature enthusiasts to join.

Page Turners Anonymous Book Club offers an evening alternative, meeting every other Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Currently delving into “The Sun Does Shine” by Anthony Ray Hinton, this club also requires sign-up and has 5 spots available.

Movie Nights and Game Sessions

Studio Ghibli Movie Night is a treat for animation lovers. Held on the 3rd Thursday of every other month, the event features classics from the renowned Studio Ghibli. Upcoming screenings include “Whisper of the Heart,” “Grave of the Fireflies,” “Ocean Waves,” and “The Boy and the Heron.”
