The Galion Public Library has announced an exciting lineup of events for February 2024 catering to the diverse interests of adult patrons. Carde Diem: A Monthly Card Game Gathering
Kicking off the month, the library will host ‘Carde Diem’ on Tuesday, February 6th, from Noon to 2:00 PM. This event, designed for adults 18 and older, offers a chance to enjoy various card games. It’s an ideal setting for card game enthusiasts to meet and engage in friendly competition.
Out of Shelf Space and Page Turners Anonymous: For the Avid Readers
Book lovers have a double treat with two book clubs. The ‘Out of Shelf Space Book Club’ meets on Wednesday, February 7th, from Noon to 1:30 PM. This morning club is still deciding on its next read, and interested participants need to sign up, with 9 spots available as of January 2024.
In the evening, the ‘Page Turners Anonymous Book Club’ meets every other Wednesday, including February 7th and 28th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The current book under discussion is Anthony Ray Hinton’s “The Sun Does Shine.” This club also requires sign-up, with 6 spots open.
Bingo! for Books and Adult Game Night: Entertainment and Interaction
Bingo! for Books: A Chance to Win New Reads
On Monday, February 19th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the library will host ‘Bingo! for Books.’ This bi-monthly event is a fun way to potentially win and take home a new book. The game promises multiple opportunities to win, with three bingo winners each round.
Adult Game Night: A Mix of Fun and Games
Concluding the month’s Mondays, the ‘Adult Game Night’ on February 26th, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, offers a relaxing and social evening. This event encourages adults to indulge in various games, from card games to board games. Participants can bring their own snacks and refreshments, although the library will provide some.
Adult Dungeons and Dragons: Embark on an Imaginative Adventure
A Campaign for All Experience Levels
On Tuesday, February 27th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the library will host an ‘Adult Dungeons and Dragons’ session. Open to players 17 and older, this event welcomes all experience levels, from newcomers to veteran players. Interested individuals must sign up, and the campaign is limited to six players.
