Galion’s summer sports scene is heating up, and it’s all for a great cause! The Galion Youth Baseball and Galion Girls Summer Softball leagues are hosting a Co-Ed Softball Tournament on August 10 and 11. This event is more than just a weekend of friendly competition—it’s a chance for the community to come together and support the future of local youth sports.

Step Up to the Plate

Mark your calendars for this exciting event at Peco Park, located at 1321 Freese Works Place in Galion, Ohio. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, this tournament is open to everyone aged 16 and older. The fun kicks off with registration from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM each day, followed by pool play starting at 9:00 AM. The entry fee is just $20 per person—a small price to pay for a big impact on our community.

Play for a Purpose

Funds raised during this tournament will go directly towards purchasing new equipment and making field improvements for the 2025 season. With youth sports playing such a vital role in our community, this fundraiser ensures that our local leagues have the resources they need to thrive. Participants are encouraged to bring their own team, but if you’re flying solo, don’t worry—you’ll be drafted onto a team and get to meet new friends on the field.

What to Bring

Players should come prepared with a glove, a slow pitch softball bat, and either tennis shoes or molded cleats (please note that steel cleats are not allowed). This is your chance to show off your skills and have some fun while supporting a worthy cause. Plus, there will be breakfast and lunch available at the concession stands, so you can refuel between games.

Join the Fun

This Co-Ed Softball Tournament is more than just a game—it’s a community event that brings people together for a common cause. Whether you’re playing on the field or cheering from the stands, your participation makes a difference. Gather your friends, family, and teammates, and head to Peco Park for a weekend of softball, camaraderie, and community spirit.
