As fall sports get underway, the Avita Center for Sports Health is once again opening its doors to student athletes in need of quick attention for sports-related injuries. Known as “Bump Clinics,” these weekly sessions provide a way for players to be evaluated and treated by board-certified sports medicine specialists without the long wait times that can come with regular appointments.
What is a Bump Clinic?
In the sports world, a “bump clinic” is a time set aside for athletes to walk in and receive medical evaluation for injuries that happen during practices or games. The goal is fast, reliable care that helps athletes get back to playing safely or know when they need more specialized treatment. Unlike emergency rooms or urgent care centers, bump clinics are tailored to the needs of student athletes, from sprains and strains to more complex injuries.

Avita’s fall clinics will run now through October at three convenient locations in Bucyrus, Galion, and Ontario:

Why It Matters
For families with student athletes, these clinics are a valuable resource. Sports injuries can happen quickly, and catching them early helps prevent more serious issues later in the season.
