“On September 2, after school had ended, the Galion Police Department responded to a reported threat made by a Galion Middle School student. Officers acted quickly in coordination with school officials to assess and address the situation.

Following a thorough investigation, it has been determined that there is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the community. The student involved was taken into custody without incident.

As a caution to parents and guardians—and given ongoing concerns about school safety nationwide—we encourage you to speak with your children about the importance of communication. Please remind them that school staff and law enforcement are here to help. If concerns arise, students should never hesitate to speak with a trusted adult, school staff member, or police officer.
