Galion Public Library Joins Statewide SEO Consortium

The Galion Public Library has officially joined the SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) Consortium, linking local readers to a network of more than 100 public library systems across Ohio. With this change, Galion patrons can now browse a shared online catalog, place holds on materials from any member library, and have them delivered directly to Galion for checkout.

To take advantage of the new system, patrons will need to set a password to log in to their account. This can be done by calling or visiting the library during regular hours. The new catalog is available at https://ohio.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/gal/.

A Statewide Network of Shared Resources

The SEO Consortium represents nearly 300 library locations in about 50 Ohio counties. It was created to help libraries—especially smaller or rural ones—share resources and manage technology more efficiently. Through SEO’s shared catalog, patrons gain access to more than 8 million items, from books and audiobooks to DVDs and e-resources.

Behind the scenes, SEO provides technical support and manages the integrated library software used by its members. This centralized system allows for smoother cataloging, circulation, and interlibrary loans, while also offering staff training and technology assistance.

What It Means for Galion Readers

For Galion Public Library patrons, this partnership means access to one of the largest collections in Ohio. Requested items from other libraries usually arrive within a few days and can be picked up just like any local checkout.
