Destination Mansfield-Richland County was recently recognized for outstanding achievement in tourism marketing and advertising at the Ohio Travel Association’s annual RUBY Awards, held October 2 in Geneva-on-the-Lake. The organization earned a prestigious RUBY Award for its Ohio Bird Sanctuary Marketing Campaign and a Citation of Excellence for its Shawshank30 Highlights video. Kim Miers, Meetings and Marketing Director, accepted the awards on behalf of the organization.
The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is just a few miles east of Galion.
The RUBY Awards—short for Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance Yearly—celebrate excellence across Ohio’s travel and tourism industry. This year’s competition was strong, with more than 240 entries spanning categories from digital and print advertising to video production and integrated marketing campaigns. The awards were presented during the Ohio Conference on Travel, hosted at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake and sponsored by Ohio Magazine.
Destination Mansfield-Richland County’s work extends across the region, including a presence in Galion. Historically, several Galion-based members have partnered through the organization to promote local attractions and events to a much wider audience. This regional collaboration helps bring visitors to Galion’s historic and cultural sites while supporting the shared goal of strengthening north central Ohio’s tourism economy.
