July TFIG Delights In Uptowne Galion

Uptowne Galion welcomed residents and visitors on Friday evening, July 18 for the second “Third Friday in Galion” (TFIG) of the season. The family‑friendly street festival ran from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and wrapped Park Square and Harding Way in a playful “Christmas in July” embrace.

A downtown soirée for all ages

Shoppers drifted between several pop‑up booths while Uptowne storefronts kept their doors open late. Carrie’s Venue transformed into a mini studio where the Crawford County Art Center invited visitors to create free “Christmas in July” art projects. Meanwhile, families followed a pop‑up Storybook Trail arranged by the Galion Public Library, turning each downtown block into a new illustrated page. AllEve

Music Hits the Square

The cast of the upcoming youth production at the Galion Community Theatre, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” entertained the audience with three selections from the musical which starts this coming Friday. Then, as the clock hit 5:30 PM, singer‑songwriter Steve Brown stepped onto the Gazebo on the Square, weaving classic rock and mellow jazz into a soundtrack that kept toes tapping well past dusk.

Community partners keep the spirit alive

The Crawford County Chamber of Commerce once again organized the evening, with major support from the Galion City Health Department and accounting firm Mizick Miller. If you missed the merriment—or simply want a second helping—Third Friday returns on August 15 at 5:00 PM with a fresh theme, new performers and plenty of late‑summer surprises.
