For 36 hours this July, a donation to a Crawford County nonprofit could go a little further.

The Community Foundation for Crawford County will launch #CrawfordForGood at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, July 21, opening a two-day online fundraising effort designed to help local nonprofits raise money for operating costs and other needs. The event continues through 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 22.

And there is an added incentive for both organizations and donors: $8,000 in matching funds.

A Community-Wide Fundraising Opportunity

The Foundation is providing the online fundraising platform at no cost to participating nonprofits. Any nonprofit organization located in Crawford County or serving the county is eligible to take part. Online donations made during the official event window will receive a pro-rated share of the $8,000 matching pool, funded through the combined generosity of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and Park National Bank.

The Foundation is also encouraging businesses and individuals interested in adding to that pool to make contact as soon as possible. A larger pool would mean an even greater incentive for supporters to give during the event.

Nonprofits Face A July 17 Deadline

Organizations interested in participating must register through the Foundation’s website at cfcrawford.org by Friday, July 17. The event will again use the Network for Good platform, which also allows individuals to become fundraisers on behalf of participating nonprofits. Supporters can create their own fundraising page in less than five minutes, then share it through social media, email or text messages during the campaign.

Fundraising Pages Open July 15

The platform for building those individual fundraising pages will become available Wednesday, July 15, at cfcrawford.networkforgood.com. That gives nonprofit supporters several days to prepare their pages, spread the word and build momentum before the official giving period begins.

One timing detail matters: only online donations made between 8:00 AM on July 21 and 8:00 PM on July 22 will be eligible for a share of the pro-rated matching funds.

For Crawford County’s nonprofit community, #CrawfordForGood offers a concentrated window to rally supporters, reach new donors and turn 36 hours of online giving into support that can last well beyond July.
