The calendar may still say summer, but football season is already taking shape across north central Ohio. Colonel Crawford and Northmor have released their 2026 varsity football schedules, laying out a season that will stretch from August into late October and include traditional rivalry games, homecoming nights, military recognitions, and several early tests before conference races come fully into focus.
For Northmor, the season starts even earlier with a pair of August scrimmages. Colonel Crawford, meanwhile, opens its regular season at home on a Thursday night.
Northmor Gets an Early Start
The Golden Knights will get their first look at outside competition on Tuesday, August 4, when they travel to Western Reserve for a 6:00 PM scrimmage. Northmor returns home on Thursday, August 13, for a 7:00 PM scrimmage against Wynford before the games begin to count.
The regular-season opener arrives Friday, August 21, when Upper Sandusky visits Northmor for a 7:00 PM kickoff. The Golden Knights then travel to Smithville before returning home September 4 against North Union.
A three-game September home schedule includes several of the season’s special nights. Cardington comes to Northmor on September 11 for Military Night, while Danville visits September 25 for Homecoming. Northmor’s final home appearance will come October 16 against Mt. Gilead on Senior Night. The regular season closes one week later at Loudonville.

Colonel Crawford Opens Under the Thursday Night Lights
Colonel Crawford will begin its 2026 season one day before the traditional Friday night opener, welcoming Fairbanks on Thursday, August 20, at 7:00 PM. The opener will also serve as Senior Parents Night.
The Eagles head to Fairfield Union on August 28 before returning home for back-to-back September contests. Hopewell-Loudon visits September 4 for Pancreatic Cancer Night, followed by Tiffin Calvert on September 11 for Military Appreciation Night. After a road trip to Carey, Colonel Crawford will host Lucas on September 25 for Homecoming.
October brings one of the more distinctive dates on the Eagles’ schedule. Colonel Crawford travels to Wynford on October 2 for the annual Iron Plow game.
The final home contest comes October 9 against Mohawk, which will also be Mini-Cheer Night. Colonel Crawford then finishes the regular season with consecutive road games at Seneca East and Bucyrus.
