September will begin with a busy mix of stories, creative pursuits and opportunities to connect at the Galion Public Library. The schedule for the first half of the month includes activities for young children, teenagers and adults, with several programs extending beyond the library walls to Three Bean Coffee House.
📖 Stories And Conversation Open The Month
The month begins Wednesday, September 2, with Storytime from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Miss Nancy leads the interactive program, which combines stories with singing, dancing and sensory play. Later that day, students in grades six through 12 can gather for Teen Chat from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The informal program gives young people a safe place to meet friends, talk and unwind. The day concludes with a Poetry Reading at Three Bean Coffee House from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Participants may bring their own writing, read the work of a favorite poet or simply listen. Reading material, paper and pencils will also be available, while drinks and treats may be purchased from the coffee house.
🎤 Poetry Takes Center Stage
Storytime returns from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 8. That evening, teens can take the microphone during Poetry Club, scheduled from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The open-mic gathering welcomes participants who want to read their own poetry or share a favorite work in a supportive setting.
🎨 A Wednesday Filled With Color And Anime
Wednesday, September 9, brings three more programs, beginning with Storytime from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM by Coffee and Coloring at Three Bean Coffee House, which will offer a relaxed creative break for all ages. The library will supply coloring pages and materials, although participants may bring their own. Coloring is free, with beverages available for optional purchase.
Teenagers in grades six through 12 can return to the library that evening for Anime Club from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The club features a different anime-themed activity each month.
🧱 Building And Book Signing
Young builders will have their turn Thursday, September 10, when Lego Club meets from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Children of all ages may create their own Lego masterpieces, meet other builders and try the club’s monthly challenge.
A special event follows Saturday, September 12, when Miss Nancy and Waddles the Goose visit the Library Community Room for a book signing from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The pair will entertain children with their recently published book, “Toast and Jam at the Library.” Families are encouraged to purchase a copy through Lulu.com and bring it to the event for signing. Refreshments will be served, and reservations are not required, although seating will be limited.
🧵 Clubs Close Out The First Half
Three programs are planned for Tuesday, September 15.
- Storytime begins the day from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
- The Teen Advisory Board will meet from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, giving young people an opportunity to learn more about library operations and share their ideas about programs and services.
- From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Stitch Club will welcome children, teens and adults interested in sewing, knitting, crocheting or other fiber crafts. Beginners are welcome, and assistance will be available for those who want to learn.
