For residents keeping an eye on household expenses, Avita Health System’s October blood screening program offers a chance to purchase several lab tests at reduced prices, with options ranging from $15 to $30. The screenings will be available throughout October 2026 through a voucher program at Avita locations, including Galion Hospital. Participants must purchase and redeem their vouchers between October 1 and October 31.
Five Testing Options
Avita will offer vouchers for the following tests:
- HealthLink Lab Profile, including lipids, chemistries and a complete blood count: $30
- Prostate-Specific Antigen, or PSA: $25
- Glycosylated Hemoglobin, or HgbA1c: $30
- Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, or TSH: $15
- Vitamin D, 25: $30
Participants can purchase a voucher and have their testing completed on the same day, provided they have met the preparation requirements for their tests.
Where to Purchase and Use Vouchers
Vouchers will be sold Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the Galion Hospital cashier’s office, the registration desks at Bucyrus and Ontario hospitals, and the Bellville and Shelby Walk-In Clinics. Ontario South Campus will not sell vouchers, although its lab will accept them for testing.
Once purchased, vouchers can be redeemed at any Avita hospital, the Ontario South Campus lab, or the Bellville and Shelby Walk-In Clinics during October. All vouchers expire October 31.
For those planning to use Galion Hospital, lab hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 7:00 AM to noon. The lab is closed Sunday. Voucher sales hours are separate from lab hours, so anyone planning a Saturday visit should purchase their voucher in advance.
Results Come Directly to You
There is one important follow-up step for participants: Avita will mail lab results directly to the person tested. Physicians and other health care providers will not automatically receive a copy. Participants are responsible for sharing their results with their provider, making that follow-up part of the process after the screening is complete.
