From school activities and community gatherings to family events and local fundraisers, there is plenty happening around Galion in the days ahead.
Here are several events and activities worth knowing about.
🐯 Tiger Dash Returns for Galion Students
Galion City Schools is preparing for its upcoming Tiger Dash, a PTO-sponsored event for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The event includes Kona Ice and helps raise money for classroom supplies, student trips, and other school activities. For families with younger students, it is one of the bigger school-centered events coming up on the calendar.
📚 Raising Tigers Parent Learning Series
Galion City Schools has also introduced a new parent learning series called Raising Tigers. The series is built around Jonathan Haidt’s book The Anxious Generation and is designed to bring parents and guardians together for conversations about children, technology, mental health, and growing up in today’s digital environment. Additional discussions are expected over the coming months.
🏫 Connections Weekend Brings Alumni Back to Galion
Galion’s Connections Weekend 2026 is set for October 15 through October 17. The weekend will include an old-fashioned pep rally and bonfire on Thursday, Career Day and the homecoming football game on Friday, and a Kiwanis pancake breakfast and Hall of Fame activities on Saturday. The annual celebration brings together students, alumni, families, and longtime members of the Galion community.
👻 Eerie Galion Walks
Eerie Galion Walks return in October, offering participants a nighttime trip through some of Galion’s more atmospheric stories and locations. Each walk ends at the Gill House where food and the latest paranormal findings willl be shared. Each walk begins at 8:00PM at the gazebo in Park Square. 🥫 Galion Drive-Thru Mobile Pantry Coming October 5
A Galion Drive-Thru Mobile Pantry is scheduled for Monday, October 5, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Galion school campus, 470 Portland Way North. The distribution is part of Second Harvest Food Bank’s school pantry program.
🎃 Halloween Fun at Brownella Cottage
The Galion History Center is planning Kids Trick-or-Treat After Dark at Brownella Cottage in October. Families will be able to move through the house and visit trick-or-treat stations along the way. Costumes are encouraged, giving families a chance to combine Halloween fun with one of Galion’s best-known historic landmarks.
🐶 Puppy Yoga with the Crawford County Humane Society
One of the more unusual events coming up is Puppy Yoga with the Crawford County Humane Society. The October 10 event at Pub House 123 combines a beginner-level yoga class with puppies and support for the Humane Society. Organizers are requesting donations to benefit the shelter.
🎬 Free Movies at Galion Community Theatre
Galion Community Theatre’s Movies @ The Galion series continues this fall. Hotel Transylvania is scheduled for October 26, with doors opening at 6:00 PM and the movie beginning at 6:30 PM. The screening is part of the theatre’s continuing series of free community movies.
