OK, here’s a question for you.
Of the cities and villages of Crawford County, which would you imagine has the highest current average house values and which, among those five, has registered the largest percentage house value increase over the last five years.
Perhaps counterintuitively, Tiro ranks at the top in both categories, however Galion does have the second highest five year increase.
Recently, Stacker compiled a list of places with the most expensive homes in Crawford County using data from Zillow. Places are ranked by the Zillow Home Values Index (ZVHI) for all homes as of November, 2022.
The ZVHI represents a seasonally adjusted price for the middle market for all homes. All 5 cities and towns with data available were included in the list.
Here are those figures:

– 1-year price change: +11.3%
– 5-year price change: +48.1%
#4. Galion
– Typical home value: $127,600
– 1-year price change: +12.5%
– 5-year price change: +50.6%
#3. New Washington
– Typical home value: $131,989
– 1-year price change: +8.9%
– 5-year price change: +41.6%
#2. Bucyrus
– Typical home value: $133,461
– 1-year price change: +10.4%
– 5-year price change: +40.8%
#1. Tiro
– Typical home value: $156,287
– 1-year price change: +11.5%
– 5-year price change: +58.4%
