The Renaissance Performing Arts Association invites you to a free, unforgettable musical experience with the United States Army Field Band: Concert Band and Soldiers’ Chorus on Sunday, April 13 at 3:00 PM on the Renaissance Theatre’s Main Stage.
The U.S. Army Field Band is the official musical ambassador of the U.S. Army, and this special performance will showcase both the elite Concert Band and the powerful Soldiers’ Chorus. Together, they will present This We’ll Defend, a multimedia concert celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday and honoring the brave men and women who have served our nation.
The Concert Band, founded in 1946, is the oldest and largest of the Army Field Band’s components. This 65-member ensemble has performed for more than 100 million people across all 50 states and 25 foreign countries. From world-renowned venues like Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonie to state fairgrounds and high school gymnasiums, the Concert Band brings its signature blend of marches, overtures, popular music, and patriotic selections to audiences everywhere. The band’s rich history and exceptional artistry ensure an emotional and entertaining experience for all.
The Soldiers’ Chorus, founded in 1957, adds a vocal touch to the Field Band’s performances. This 24-member ensemble has also traveled the world, performing in diverse settings and genres. From Broadway and opera to pop, rock, and R&B, the Soldiers’ Chorus’ versatile vocal range brings an extra layer of patriotism and pride to every concert. Their inspiring performances have included prestigious events like the Kennedy Center Honors and the National Memorial Day Concert, and their collaboration with the Concert Band makes for an extraordinary musical experience.
