Discover Trees and Poetry Along the Trail

Tree Hike

  • Dates: December 3–29
  • Location: Lowe-Volk Park

Enjoy a self-guided hike through the park, searching for laminated trees along the way. Each stop unveils a line of a poem for hikers to piece together. Complete the hike during Nature Center office hours, and you’ll receive a special prize at the front desk.


Learn About Nature’s Winter Wonders

Homeschool in Nature: Winter Birds

  • Times: 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM

Winter birds bring life to the chillier months. This program includes a walk to identify feathered friends and a craft session where kids (ages 5–12) can create a bird feeder. Registration is required by calling the Park District.
