The Crawford Park District is gearing up for a summer of outdoor learning and adventure and is looking for two Nature Camp Interns to join their team. This seasonal position provides a hands-on opportunity for individuals passionate about nature, education, and working with children. The internships will run from June 2 through August 15, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Interns will earn $11.00/hour, with biweekly payments.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will play an active role in the success of the Crawford Park District’s summer Nature Camp program. Duties include:
- Preparing for daily camp activities.
- Assisting Naturalists with camp sessions.
- Leading selected activities and engaging with campers.
- Cleaning and organizing camp materials at the end of the day.
- Maintaining a professional, cooperative relationship with staff.
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong interest in pursuing a degree in fields such as Environmental Education, Wildlife Biology, or related disciplines.
- Effective oral communication skills, especially with children.
- A desire to foster a love of nature and learning in campers.
- Familiarity with local cultural and natural history, though not required, is a bonus.
