From time to time, “buzzwords” pop up in various places in our community. They travel across tables in local eateries and coffee houses; they may be discussed at church and work; they populate posts on Facebook Groups and show up elsewhere on social media.

Often, these words prompt conversations which can occasionally include valuable information and disinformation as well.

This new series from 1831Galion and TotalLocal Media will be looking at some of these topics once they arrive, providing clarity when available, answering questions, and always advancing a pro-Galion, positive approach.

Over the last few weeks, one of those phrases, “design review,” has arrived, referring to the ordinance in place in Galion which governs exterior modifications to buildings within the city’s design review districts, primarily in Uptowne Galion. The program does more than that, however, which we will discuss.
