Eagles Soar To Historic Heights

It’s a team that is rapidly installing pride in southeast Crawford County.

For just the second time in program history, the Colonel Crawford High School Eagles soared into Ohio’s Elite Eight in high school basketball. With determination, teamwork, and sheer resilience, the Eagles secured their remarkable place among the state’s basketball elite.

Now, standing on the brink of history, they aim to make their first-ever appearance in the coveted Final Four. The Eagles boast an impressive season record of 24-1, a testament to their consistent excellence and determination throughout the year.

Defense and Determination Lead the Way

On March 8, the Eagles faced off against the formidable opponent Lima Central Catholic and emerged victorious with a final score of 44-37. The Eagles’ advance was testament to their robust defensive strategy, suffocating their opponents and limiting scoring opportunities. Central to their success has been standout player Brayden Holt, the Eagles’ versatile playmaker, whose remarkable ability to score — averaging 18.0 points per game — has energized both teammates and fans. Brayden Holt was also recognized as the District Player of the Year, further highlighting his crucial role in the team’s achievements this season.

A Step Closer to Glory

Next up for Colonel Crawford is a challenging match against Maria Stein Marion Local, scheduled for March 14 at 6:00 PM. The game will be played in the Stroh Center at Bowling Green State University.

With each victory, excitement grows throughout the community, as the Eagles’ journey is not merely a playoff run but a symbol of hope and community pride.
