Keep It Alive: Plant 101 Comes To Galion

Whether you inherited a plant from a friend, bought one on impulse or already have a growing indoor collection, keeping houseplants healthy can involve a little trial and error. Plant 101, a beginner-friendly houseplant basics class, will offer practical guidance from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, September 3, at Avita Home Health & Hospice, 1220 North Market Street in Galion.

Help for New Plant Parents

The class is designed for anyone who wants healthier houseplants but may not know where to begin. Topics will include light requirements, proper watering, soil basics and some of the common problems that affect indoor plants.

Participants will also receive tips they can use to help their plants survive and thrive.

No previous plant-care experience is needed, and questions are encouraged throughout the class. Experienced plant owners who could use a little help are welcome, too.

Free Plants and Raffles

The first five people to arrive will each receive a free plant. The evening will also include two separate plant raffles, with entries costing $2 each.

The class is open to everyone. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend and discover that caring for houseplants may be simpler than they think.
