Heise Park’s restrooms are temporarily closed following extensive vandalism over ten days, the City of Galion announced October 2.
The damage included a destroyed door handle and lock in the men’s restroom and trash, grass and dirt left in the women’s restroom. A sink in the men’s restroom was destroyed the night of October 1, according to the city.
The alert also reported graffiti or vandalism involving restrooms and playground equipment at South Park, Nollen Park and East Park during the summer.
No Reopening Date Announced
Heise Park’s restrooms will remain closed until they can be restored. The announcement did not provide an estimated repair cost or reopening date.
Residents who witness vandalism or have information about the recent damage are asked to contact Galion police at 419-468-9111.
