You still have a chance to catch a vampire with more than just a sense of humor at Galion Community Theatre, where the final three performances of Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors will take place this weekend. The theatrical spoof of Bram Stoker’s classic tale returns to the stage Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 at 7:30 PM, with a final matinee on Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 PM.
Described as a blend of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and The 39 Steps, the 90-minute comedy turns the familiar vampire story into a fast-moving adventure filled with clever dialogue, unexpected twists, and rapid costume changes. Think Rocky Horror Picture Show.
When Mina falls victim to a mysterious blood disease, her sister Lucy Westfeldt and Lucy’s fiancé, Jonathan Harker, seek help from renowned vampire hunter Doctor Jean Van Helsing. Their pursuit of the dangerous and seductive Count Dracula quickly becomes an exercise in theatrical chaos. With just five actors portraying more than a dozen characters, the production delivers a deliberately outrageous version of the gothic classic. Halloween weekend offers a particularly fitting opportunity to see the show before its final curtain.

November Brings Music, Membership, And A Holiday Classic
The conclusion of Dracula is hardly the end of activity at The Galion. The theatre has announced a full calendar of performances, community gatherings, and seasonal entertainment extending through December. On Friday, November 6 at 6:00 PM, Galion Community Theatre will take its talents beyond the stage for Do-Re-Mi @ Pub House 123, an evening of local music and entertainment benefiting the theatre. Two days later, on Sunday, November 8 at 3:00 PM, GCT will host its Membership Celebration and 2027 Season Announcement, offering supporters their first look at what the organization has planned for the coming year.
The holiday season arrives early when Galion High School Performing Arts presents Miracle on 34th Street from November 20 through 22. The familiar Christmas story will bring another generation of local performers to the stage. November concludes with a free family movie night on Monday, November 30 at 6:30 PM, featuring Disney’s animated adventure Zootopia.
December Celebrations Fill The Calendar
December begins with Christmas @ The Galion on Friday, December 4 at 7:30 PM, followed by activities associated with the community’s Come Home To Galion celebrations on Saturday, December 5. One of the more distinctive musical events of the season arrives Saturday, December 12 at 5:00 PM, when Tuba Christmas brings the rich sounds of low brass instruments to the theatre. Musicians interested in participating can register through the GCT website. The theatre will also conduct its annual meeting on Tuesday, December 15 at 6:00 PM. All members are welcome to attend.
Finally, the 2026 calendar closes on Monday, December 28 at 6:30 PM with another free movie presentation, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, offering families an opportunity to enjoy a holiday-themed adventure between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Something For Everyone
From Halloween comedy to Broadway-style entertainment, student productions, holiday music, and free movies — oh, and tubas — the final weeks of 2026 demonstrate the variety of programming offered by Galion Community Theatre. The schedule also provides opportunities for residents to support local performers, participate in the organization, and celebrate the arts close to home.
