Summer is here in the region where one of Ohio’s great waterways begins and three counties converge, and exciting change is on the horizon for 1831Galion and the community it serves.
In the coming days, 1831Galion is re-launching with a refreshed web presence, and a reaffirmation to its commitment to being the trusted voice for Galion and the greater community. As the only locally-owned, consistently updated source of news and information in Galion and Crawford County, we are thrilled to bring you even more of what matters most.
Our site is being built out but the basics are already up and running. Here’s a bit of what’s in store:
- We are embracing complete local news coverage, meaning that for the first time in our history we will be covering City of Galion government news, as well as updates from Crawford and Richland Counties.
- There will be a strong emphasis on community news in the form of events, happenings, and the ways that our city celebrates life, work, and fun.
- We will be sharing updates from our websites in Mansfield (the new ThisPlace Mansfield, coming soon) and 1808Delaware that have relevance for our Galion area readers.
- We will be bringing back some of our ongoing series (like the Galion History Corner) but also introducing some new ones.
- We plan on being much more interactive in how we share local news, and to provide in-depth reporting where possible. More on that coming soon.
As always, your input is very much valued. We will be forming a Community Advisory Board soon which will provide suggestions on coverage, content, and direction. In the meantime, please drop us an email at: [email protected] and we’ll read it as soon as we can.
So buckle up, Craw/Rich/Mor!
