West Church Street Property Returns To The Auction Block

A Galion property will be offered alongside 11 Bucyrus properties when the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office holds its next delinquent-tax sale on Friday, August 28. The Galion property is located at 327 West Church Street and carries parcel number 19-0023185.000. It is listed in a court action involving Manzo Surgener, deceased.

The auction will begin at 11:00 AM in the lobby of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, 3613 Stetzer Road in Bucyrus.

A Second Opportunity for Buyers

The properties were initially scheduled for sale on August 14. Under the county’s tax-sale process, properties that do not sell at their first offering are placed before bidders again two weeks later. Properties are sold to recover delinquent taxes, penalties, assessments and expenses associated with the court action. The August 28 auction will be open to the public.

Eleven Bucyrus Properties Included

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office tax-sale listing also includes the following Bucyrus properties:

  • 1203 Monnett Street
  • 619 East Rensselaer Street
  • 912 Hull Avenue
  • 618 East Rensselaer Street
  • 600 East Charles Street
  • 815 East Rensselaer Street
  • 322 Wiley Street
  • 600 South Spring Street
  • 624 East Warren Street
  • 1507 Woodlawn Avenue
  • 827 Woodlawn Avenue

All 12 properties are connected to the same court action, although some of the listings include more than one parcel.

Buyers Should Know the Conditions

Unlike a conventional real estate sale, prospective bidders will not have access to the properties for inspections or private viewings. Each property will be sold in its condition at the time of the auction. The winning bidder must pay 10 percent of the bid immediately in cash or by certified check. Personal checks will not be accepted. The remaining balance will become due after the sale is confirmed by the Crawford County Common Pleas Court.

Proceeds from each sale will be used to pay the delinquent taxes, penalties, assessments and related costs. Because each sale is part of a court proceeding, completion of the transaction may take several weeks and, in some cases, several months.
