Galion Community Theatre (GCT) will be wrapping up the 2026 Season with Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, a “fast paced Gothic Farce.”
Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors has the same story line from the original Bram Stoker’s Classic, however the show is filled with mistaken identity, quick changes, and a Count that takes himself much too seriously compared to every other character on stage. The show begins Friday, October 23.
Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors was written by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen.
The comedy begins with young Jonathan Harker, his fiancé Lucy, and a Vampire Hunter that is not what audiences may expect trying to stop Dracula from taking another bride. There are eleven local actors playing over twenty characters and some of those actors switch between characters in seconds.
Director Todd Price stated “Think of it as Dracula mixed with Monty Python. It still has the fog, the and the creepy castle, but this version was created for laughing. Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors would be a great way to celebrate Halloween without having to worry about losing sleep.”
Showtimes are October 23rd, 24th, 30th and 31st at 7:30 P.M. Patrons are encouraged to come in costume for the Halloween performance, there will be a prize awarded at intermission for the best costume. A closing matinee will occur Sunday, November 1st at 2 P.M. This production is for mature audiences.
Tickets can be purchased through Galiontheatre.org or by contacting the Box Office at 419-468-2662.
Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is produced under Special Arrangement with Concord Theatricals. Made possible by contributions from The Ohio Arts Council and support from Schmidt Security.
