Early Wednesday afternoon, Uptowne Galion was abuzz with activity.

The 2022 edition of Oktoberfest, carrying forward a decades-long tradition, begins on Thursday and lasts through Saturday. Here are some reminders and suggestions to enjoy the festivities:

  • Remember that access to Harding Way is not permitted between Union Street on the west and Liberty Street on the East. Most alleys are open, however the first alley south of Public Square on South Market Street is not open.
  • It appears that there are many food vendors this year, both favorites from years past as well as some new options. Bring an empty stomach!
  • One must see is the Art Show going on at Artistic Gatherings, 106 Harding Way East. We’re going to have a story on the Show as well as the new art center tomorrow on 1831Galion.
  • Park Square landscaping has been completed for the event, and there are a handful of picnic tables located there.

We will likely be adding to this list in the next 24 hours; be sure to check back for additional details.
