As the summer sun shines brightly, Galion City Schools, in partnership with the USDA, is stepping up to ensure that every child in the community has access to nutritious meals. The Summer Food Service Program will provide free grab-and-go meal bags every Monday from June 10 to July 29. These meal bags will contain five breakfasts, five lunches, and bulk milk, ensuring that children have enough food for the week.

Meal Pickup Locations and Times

The program is designed to be convenient for all families, with multiple pickup locations across the city:

  • Libby Lane Apartments: 265 Libby Lane, from 10:15 AM to 10:35 AM
  • East Park Splash Pad Parking Lot: 1231 E Walnut St., from 10:45 AM to 11:05 AM
  • Galion Arms Apartments: 585 Galion Arms Court, from 11:15 AM to 11:35 AM
  • Heise Park Football Field Parking Lot: 98-2 Heise Park Lane, from 11:45 AM to 12:35 PM

Eligibility and Sign-Up Information

Every child aged 18 and under living in Galion is eligible for one meal bag each week. However, it is important to note that by receiving these meals, you acknowledge that you cannot receive meals at another USDA-sponsored location, including daycare facilities.

While there is no need to sign up to pick up a meal bag, doing so can help with planning. Parents and guardians are encouraged to call (419) 468-6500 ext 11016 or send an email to king.shannon@galionschools.org to sign up. Please provide your name, your child’s name(s), and your preferred pickup location.
