The Crawford County Art Center has announced an exciting lineup of events and workshops for May, tailored to nurture creativity in the community. The center is offering a variety of activities suitable for all ages and skill levels, from beginners to seasoned artists.

All events will place at the Center, 1810 East Mansfield in Bucyrus.

Creative Workshops and Special Events

Open Studio
Held every Monday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Open Studio sessions are exclusive to members, offering a dedicated space and time for artists to work on personal projects or collaborate with other local creatives.

Digital Classroom – Digital Landscapes
On Saturday, May 4th, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, participants can explore digital art techniques specifically focused on creating breathtaking digital landscapes. Pre-registration is required for this workshop.

Creation Station Events
These events are perfect for families and individuals looking to try their hand at various artistic disciplines:

  • Cactus Watercolor: Sunday, May 5th, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
  • Mother’s Day Paint Pour: Sunday, May 12th, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a special event to celebrate Mother’s Day.
  • Book Page Flowers: Sunday, May 19th, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
  • Button Flower Painting: Sunday, May 26th, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Mother’s Day String Art
A special session on Saturday, May 11th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, where participants can create unique string art pieces as gifts. This requires prior registration.

Wire Wrapped Tree of Life
Learn the intricate craft of wire wrapping to create a symbolic ‘Tree of Life’ sculpture on Saturday, May 18th, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This workshop also requires sign-up before attending.

Burnt Sienna Workshop
On Thursday, May 23rd, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, delve into techniques of using sienna shades in painting, suitable for those interested in enhancing their color utilization skills in artworks.
