Special to 1831Galion

The Crawford County History Alliance’s Summer Passport Program concluded with bus tours traveling to all the participating locations in the county in the last two weeks. A drawing of prizes was held at the Crawford County Arts Council on Friday.

Passports with all stamps completed were eligible for the grand prize of a flat-bottomed quart sized handmade copper kettle donated by the Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works. The prize winner was Holly Young of Galion.

Fourteen other prizes were drawn with winners from Columbus, Bloomville, and Vermilion, as well as from the Crawford County area.

Everyone agreed that this program “raised all ships” by promoting the stories, artifacts and amenities of our various organizations who offer their local history to us.

The Crawford County History Alliance (CCHA) was formed recently to be a roundtable and think tank for small historical organizations in Crawford County to promote each other and to collaborate ideas and resources.

Winners will be contacted soon, and passports will be returned to those requesting them.

The CCHA thanks all for their involvement and participation.
