There are many things which could be said about Saturday’s Come Home to Galion – all of them glowing.

For starters, the weather brought warmer temperatures than what has greeted Galionites in former years. When fake snow barreled out of the back of one of the floats, onlookers reached out to try and catch a bit.

Smiles were everywhere, particularly on the facts of the youngest in attendance. And why not? Events taking place from the Galion Community Theatre to the Big Four Depot Pavilion were geared towards children. Grandparents could be seen ushering groups from a coloring venue, to a place to interact with Disney queens, to another offering hot chocolate.

Non-profit groups and local businesses were everywhere. Music was present on Public Square and the Galion Public Library (a shout out to the Library’s incredible Christmas cookies, by the way). Carriage rides took guests from the front of the Library to the Open House at Brownella Cottage.

It was heartening to view glimpses of full sidewalks along Harding Way East and West as shoppers came out in large numbers. And what a Parade!

Rather than attempting to describe the day, we thought that we would share photos from Come Home to Galion. We have more photos and will be adding to this Flickr album through the day — click here to view.

Merry Christmas, Galion!
