The Crawford County Board of Elections has certified petitions and issues to be placed on the May 2 Primary Election ballot.

The County’s only contested races are in the City of Bucyrus, where three Republicans are vying for the nomination for Mayor and two are attempting to secure a place on the General Election ballot for Director of Law.

The City of Galion has no primary races as all elected officials are non-partisan. Voters in Precinct C of Ward Four, however, will have a ballot measure on which to vote, however, which will read:

“Shall the sale of wine and mixed beverages, and spiritous liquor be permitted for sale on Sunday by Buckeye Tacos, LLC doing business as Mi Cerrito an applicant for a D-6 liquor permit who is engaged in the business of a family oriented, full-service Mexican Restaurant at 741 Portland Way S., Galion Ohio 44833 in this precinct?”

Other issues on the ballot county-wide include proposed ambulance/EMS and fire levies in Liberty Township; a school levy in Crestline; a library levy in Bucyrus; a safety forces levy in Bucyrus; and a current expense renewal levy in North Robinson.
