Escape into the enchanting world of nature through Miss Chelsea’s engaging nature-themed storytelling sessions. Every Thursday morning throughout the summer, children and their families can gather at Lowe-Volk Park to embark on literary adventures. Alongside captivating stories, there will be animal visitors and various activities related to the featured book of the week. Keep an eye on the park’s Facebook page for updates on the readings and special guests. In case of rain, the program will be moved indoors to the Nature Center.

Looking at Nature’s Micro World

Prepare to be amazed as Lowe-Volk Park unveils its newest additionβan exploration of nature’s microscopic world. Thanks to a recent grant, the park has acquired state-of-the-art equipment that allows visitors to delve into the intricate details of feathers, sand, snake sheds, shells, tree rings, and insects. During the “Looking at Nature’s Micro World” program, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to use microscopes, stereo microscopes, digital microscopes, bug viewers, and various magnifying lenses. Guided by knowledgeable instructors, attendees will have hands-on experiences, using these magnifiers to uncover the hidden wonders of our natural world. While the class is primarily designed for ages 5-12, teens and adults are also welcome to join. Registration is recommended by calling the Park District at 419-683-9000, but walk-ins are also welcome to attend this eye-opening adventure.
