The Galion Tiger Alumni Band is gearing up for its annual performance in Unckrich Stadium.

This year, that appearance will take place on Friday, October 14 at the Tigers’ last home game of the year against Marion Pleasant.

For several weeks online recruiting has been taking place to connect potential players with available positions. This includes any GHS alum who was part of the band program, whether or not he or she was a member of the Marching Band.

Players are not required to attend all rehearsals and instruments are available on loan.

In recent years, band members have marched and played who were in classes as far back as the early 1970s. The goal for the current year is a 100 piece band to perform in conjunction with the Tiger Band; 45 alumni have signed up to date.

This year’s halftime will include performances of Birdland, Great Balls of Fire, and Chameleon, and the combined bands will be performing stadium favorites throughout the evening.
