It was an extraordinarily beautiful Friday afternoon as 12 high school track and field teams arrived at Unckrich Stadium in Heise Park for the 2023 Galion Kiwanis Invitational. As you can see below, busses from many schools were lined up on the old tennis courts immediately east of the Heise Park Pool.

This year’s slate of participating teams includes Avon, Ashland, Mansfield Senior, West Holmes, Liberty-Benton, Galion, Lexington, Ottawa-Glandorf, Colonel Crawford, Shelby, Marion Harding, and Ontario. Field events began at 3:30 PM with running events taking place at 5:15 PM.

The final results from the Galion Kiwanis Invitational can be found here. Several Galion and Colonel Crawford athletes had strong performances.
