Recovery stories will move into the spotlight this September as the Crawford County Prevention Coalition presents Amplified Expressions of Our Journey at the Galion Community Theatre. The event, scheduled for Saturday, September 19 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, will celebrate the experiences, talents and personal journeys of individuals in recovery through artistic expression.
Stories That Deserve to Be Heard
Amplified Expressions of Our Journey is designed around a simple but powerful message: Recovery is possible. Throughout the evening, local artists will use creativity to communicate experiences of struggle, resilience and hope. The program will offer community members an opportunity to hear those stories, support the people sharing them and better understand the many forms a recovery journey can take. Rather than allowing addiction to define an individual, the event will focus on the voices and talents of those who are building new chapters in their lives.
Organizers hope the gathering will also create connections among people in recovery, their families and friends, service providers and other members of the Crawford County community.
Prevention Through Community
The Crawford County Prevention Coalition works to improve the quality of life in the community through action, education and prevention. Its efforts encourage safety, increase awareness and connect residents with resources intended to prevent substance misuse and promote overall wellness.
The coalition is managed by Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs, an Ohio-certified nonprofit organization. Its work is supported in part by the Crawford-Marion ADAMH Board. In addition to community education and recovery events, the coalition supports youth-led programs that encourage positive, drug-free choices. Those efforts include student rallies, awareness campaigns and leadership opportunities for young people across Crawford County. The organization also works with regional health and community partners on seasonal outreach programs, workshops and other prevention initiatives.
An Evening of Hope
By bringing those efforts to the stage, Amplified Expressions of Our Journey will give the wider community a chance to experience recovery through the perspectives of those living it. The evening is intended to be both a celebration and a reminder that behind every recovery statistic is an individual story, one shaped by setbacks, courage, change and hope.
Amplified Expressions of Our Journey will take place Saturday, September 19 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Galion Community Theatre.
