Galion Community Theatre has assembled the cast for a fast-moving, laugh-filled encounter with the world’s most famous vampire.
Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors will close GCT’s 2026 season with five performances surrounding Halloween, including an evening performance on October 31. The production promises considerably more laughter than fright as it sends Count Dracula, Jonathan Harker, Van Helsing and the other familiar figures from Bram Stoker’s novel spinning through a 90-minute theatrical romp.
Familiar Characters With a Comic Twist
Written by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen, Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors combines the bones of Stoker’s gothic classic with rapid costume changes, flexible casting, gender-bending performances, clever wordplay and contemporary pop culture references. The story begins as the mild-mannered Harker ventures into the mountains of Transylvania to meet a mysterious new real estate client. That client, of course, is Count Dracula, whose arrival sets off a chase involving famed vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing and a growing company of endangered companions. Their pursuit carries the characters from Transylvania to the British countryside, on to London and back again. Along the way, horror gives way to farce as the characters navigate romantic complications, mistaken identities and encounters calculated to produce screams of laughter.
Concord Theatricals describes the play as a parody suitable for audiences of all ages. Although the comedy can be performed by as few as five actors, its casting is expandable, allowing individual theaters to put their own stamp on its parade of characters.
The Cast Takes Shape
Perry Pearson will take on the title role of Dracula, while Coldan Draper will play Harker. Alexa Thom appears as Van Helsing, with Amanda Wiggins as Lucy and Angie Thompson as Mina. Christopher Sherer will perform the dual roles of Dr. Westfeldt and Renfield. Abby Volk will play Last Havemercy and the Driver, while Adrienne Mann will appear as both the Gravedigger and the Bosun.
The newly announced cast also includes Brayden Gear as Lord Cavendish, Will Thompson as Lord Worthington, Judson Palmer as the Captain, and Kaylee Crane as Kitty .
Together, the 12-member ensemble will bring the comedy’s collection of vampire hunters, aristocrats, sailors, servants and suspiciously undead figures to the stage at The Galion.
Halloween Weekends at The Galion
Performances are scheduled for October 23, 24, 30 and 31 at 7:30 PM. A final matinee will be presented November 1 at 2:00 PM. All performances will take place at Galion Community Theatre, 127 Harding Way West in Uptowne Galion.

With a Halloween-night performance, a cast prepared for quick changes and a Dracula played strictly for laughs, GCT’s final production of the year is positioned as a particularly fitting addition to Galion’s spooky season.
