This Saturday brings the first-ever Edison History Camp at the Gill House, which is designed for children aged 6 to 16. It will take place from 1 PM to 3 PM.

The free event will introduce kids to the story of Thomas Edison and the invention of the incandescent light bulb. Participants will be given the opportunity to make and test their own homemade light bulb, and engage in other science experiments.

The event is being held during a month when the visit of Thomas Edison and his wife, Mina Edison, is being celebrated. It was 100 years ago, in August, 1923, that the Edisons made the last known visit to the Gill House. Mrs. Edison and Mrs. Gill were good childhood friends.

There’s still time to register. To do so, send us a message on Facebook (facebook.com/gillhousegalion) or send an email to: thomasingalion@gmail.com. Again, the History Camp is free!
